Baltimore Orioles' Chance Sisco, Garabez Rosa and Aderlin Rodriguez Named Postseason All-Stars

Over the weekend, both the Eastern League (AA) and the Carolina League (High-A) announced their postseason All-Stars and the Baltimore Orioles landed a total of three players among the two teams. AA Bowie landed both catcher Chance Sisco and infielder Garabez Rosa on the Eastern League postseason All-Star team, while High-A Frederick had first baseman Aderlin Rodriguez on the Carolina League team.

Sisco, 21, continues to land awards and recognition this season and being named to the postseason Eastern League All-Star team is just the latest, and I believe, it won't be the last award he gets this year.

He has been one of the most consistent hitters in the Eastern League and the entire Orioles' organization this season. Through 108 games this year, Sisco is hitting .311 with four home runs, 26 doubles, one triple, 44 RBI, and 50 runs scored. He also boasts a robust .398 on base percentage and has a nice .810 OPS.

Rosa, 26, has seen some time at AAA Norfolk this season, but has played the majority of the year with the Baysox. He was selected as a mid-season All-Star in the Eastern League this year as well and also was named the 2015 Eastern League Championship Series MVP last year when he helped lead the Baysox to the EL Title.

This year, through 102 games with the Baysox, Rosa is hitting .303 with eight home runs, 19 doubles, two triples, 61 RBI and 43 runs scored.

Rodriguez, 24, is becoming quite a story in the Orioles' organization. He was signed in January as a minor league free agent and has had a tremendous first year in the organization.

Through 123 games with the Keys this season, Rodriguez is hitting .303 with 24 home runs, 22 doubles, six triples, 86 RBI and has scored 65 runs. He also owns a .360 OBP and a .893 OPS.

Not surprisingly, Rodriguez is among the Carolina League leaders in several categories, including slugging percentage, total bases, home runs, hits, batting average and RBI.

  1. It's going to be a tight race for the 2016 Orioles' Brooks Robinson Minor League Player of the Year award between Rodriguez and Sisco. Trey Mancini and Yermin Mercedes are serious contenders as well. Much more up in the air this year than last year when Mancini was the clear and obvious choice
