The All-Harbor Park Team as the Tides call it, is part of this year's 25th anniversary celebration of Harbor Park, the home of the Tides.

Norfolk has not only been an Orioles' affiliate in the Tides tenure at Harbor Park, the team served as the the AAA affiliate of the New York Mets prior to the Orioles.

Of the 14 members of the All-Harbor Park team, eight were members of the Orioles organization, while six were members of the Mets organization.

"This was a really fun way for us to celebrate some amazing accomplishments by players who have come through Norfolk over the last 25 years" said Tides General Manager Joe Gregory via the press release. "The team is a great assortment of fan favorites who have had fantastic success both with the Tides and at the major league level."
Tides' PR pointed out that the All-Harbor Park team features 22 MLB All-Star Game appearances, four International League postseason awards and four World Series appearances.

Below is the 14-member All Harbor Park as selected by the fans:

Catcher - Matt Wieters - 4-time American League All-Star, 2-time Gold Glove winner with Orioles
First Baseman - Christian Walker - Has most home runs by a Tide as an Orioles affiliate
Second Baseman - Jonathan Schoop - Has reached double digits in HRs in first three MLB seasons
Shortstop - José Reyes - 4-time NL All-Star with Mets, 2011 National League batting champ
Third Baseman - Butch Huskey - 1995 International League MVP, highest vote getter
Outfielder - Dariel Álvarez - Has most hits and doubles by a Tide as an Orioles affiliate
Outfielder - Jeromy Burnitz - 1999 NL All-Star, finished MLB career with 381 home runs
Outfielder - Ángel Pagán - 2012 World Series champion with San Francisco Giants
Pitcher - Jake Arrieta - 2015 NL Cy Young winner, 2016 World Series champion with Chicago Cubs
Pitcher - Zach Britton - 2-time AL All-Star, led American League with 47 saves in 2016
Pitcher - Jason Isringhausen - 1995 IL Rookie and Pitcher of the Year, 300 career MLB saves
Pitcher - Chris Tillman - Threw no-hitter with Norfolk in 2010, American League All-Star in 2013
Utility - David Wright - 7-time National League All-Star with Mets, 2nd-highest vote getter
Manager - Ron Johnson - Franchise leader in managerial victories, 2015 IL Manager of the Year

There are some big-time names that have come through Norfolk en route to very successful MLB careers.

Personally, I enjoyed voting in each category as a fan, and I could not be happier to see Ron Johnson win the managerial vote. Ron is a tremendous baseball mind and has done a terrific job managing the Tides, especially considering how frequent the Norfolk-to-Baltimore taxi-squad gets used.

Congratulations to all the players selected, and the first game of the Tides' 25th year at Harbor Park will be an exhibition game with the Orioles on March 31st.
