The Ironbirds made the announcement via press release.

In the press release, the Ironbirds announced that there will be a new, 1,500 square foot high-definition video board at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium. Even better, is the fact that it will be ready for the Ironbirds' home opener on June 19.

The new video board will be HD, 10 times larger than the current video board, and will also have a live score line display as well. Per the press release, the upgrade is funded entirely by Ripken Baseball.

"Our investment represents much more than just an improvement to the facility," said IronBirds General Manager Matt Slatus in the press release. "This project is a testament of our commitment to providing the ultimate, family-fun experience, as well as our dedication to the Harford County community. Our fans are going to love the upgrade and all that it brings."
Daktronics is the manufacturer and will also install the new video board. The board will be 30 feet high and 50 feet wide, while having a 15HD pixel layout which will enhance the viewing experience from all parts of the ball park.

The new video board is not just going to get use during games, but starting this year, there will be a free Community Movie Night Series (presented by Giant Food) at the stadium. Throughout the summer while the Ironbirds are on the road, fans, families and the local community will be invited to enjoy movies from the outfield lawn at the stadium. This is a really cool thing the Ironbirds are doing this year.

If you already enjoyed going to Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium, this year will be even better with this top-of-the-line HD video board.
