One Week Until MiLB Opening Day, Fun Minor League Weekend Set for Baltimore Orioles' Affiliates

The Baltimore Orioles open their 2017 regular season on Monday against the Toronto Blue Jays, but the minor league season kicks off a week from today! This weekend will be a fun weekend to get fans of the O's minor league affiliates ready for the 2017 season with each affiliate having a special event over the weekend.

Each of the Orioles' full-season affiliates have something going on this weekend for fans to enjoy, and to get ready for this season.

Below I have quickly highlighted the events taking place this weekend for each of the full-season affiliates, and hopefully you will have the chance to check one of them out!

AAA Norfolk Tides - Friday, March 31, hosting the Orioles in an exhibition game.

The Orioles will play the Tides for the third time in the last six years as they played in 2012 and 2014 as well. Tickets are still on sale and as long as the weather doesn't become an issue.

Our very own Nick Stevens will be at the game to catch the action, and provide you a full recap and reaction to the contest.

The game will take place at 3:05 p.m. EST.

AA Bowie Baysox - Saturday, April 1, hosting Free Family FunFest

Bowie will host its' annual Free Family FunFest on Saturday at Prince George's Stadium from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and it is free of charge.

High-A Frederick Keys - Saturday, April 1, hosting Free KeysFest

Another great event that is free of charge to fans, the Keys will host KeysFest on Saturday at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium from 11-2 p.m.

Low-A Delmarva Shorebirds - Saturday, April 1, having Froggy 99.9 Easter Fest

The event is two events in one, with it being the Shorebirds' FanFest and also Crown Sports Center's Easter Fest. It will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until noon and will be at the Crown Sports Center in Fruitland, Maryland.

There will be Easter Egg hunts, National Anthem tryouts, the opportunity to take pictures with Sherman (Shorebirds' mascot) and the Easter Bunny and much more.
