Bowie Baysox 1B Aderlin Rodriguez Having a Week for the Ages (VIDEO)

The AA Bowie Baysox are playing pretty well, sitting just 2.5 games back of the Altoona Curve in the Eastern League's Western Division, but the week that Baysox first baseman Aderlin Rodriguez is having is one for the ages.

Rodriguez, 25, was signed by the Baltimore Orioles as a minor league free agent prior to the 2016 season, and since joining the organization, he has done nothing but hit, and hit very well.

This year with Bowie, Rodriguez is hitting .313 with 11 home runs, 10 doubles, 41 RBI and has scored 26 runs. He also owns a .377 OBP and a .881 OPS.

Last year, his first in the organization, Rodriguez raked for the High-A Frederick Keys hitting .304 with 26 home runs, 23 doubles, three triples, 93 RBI and scored 71 runs.

His overall numbers have been extremely impressive, but the week he is having this week is one for the ages.

Over just four games so far this week, Rodriguez is hitting .706 (12-17) with three home runs and 13 RBI!

If you follow Baby Birdland, you already know about the historic day he had in game one of a doubleheader on Wednesday where he went 5-5 with two home runs and a Baysox franchise record NINE RBI.

Below is a video of his second home run in that ball game.

While first base is blocked at the big leagues, and there are guys at AAA the Orioles would like to see get the majority of playing time at first base, it's becoming tough to argue that Rodriguez does not deserve to be promoted to Norfolk.

He has been quite the offensive force since joining the Orioles' organization, and if he continues to perform this way, he may well become one of the biggest steals in franchise history as signing as a minor league free agent.
