MiLB made the announcements via press release on Monday.

Wells got the nod for Player of the Month in the South Atlantic League, and for good reason. Wells went 3-0 and did not allow a single run in any of his five starts in July for the Delmarva Shorebirds!

He also led the South Atlantic League in WHIP (0.42) and average against (.124) as he allowed just 13 hits in 31 innings without walking a single batter. Wells worked 6 or more innings in each start and did not allow more than four hits in any of his five outings.

Pure dominance by the Australian lefty!

Aberdeen Ironbirds catcher Ben Breazeale also brought home the honor for the New York-Penn League Player of the Month.

Breazeale led the New York-Penn League in hitting (.390), hits (39), total bases (55), doubles (10), RBI (23) and on-base percentage (.462). He also finished second in extra-base hits (12), slugging (.550) and OPS (1.012).

Not bad for a guy who was in college just a few months ago.

Congratulations to both Wells and Breazeale on their well-deserved awards!
